Supporter Engagement Officer – JAKARTA

Directorate : Amnesty International Indonesia Section
Location: Jakarta
Job Type: Temporary Role
Working Hours : 40 hours
Closing Date: 20 November 2026

Amnesty International Indonesia is seeking a Supporter Engagement Officer to deliver supporter engagement strategies across digital channels and in-person initiatives. The role will implement supporter journeys, manage CRM and email operations, and coordinate volunteer engagement activities that contribute to supporter growth, retention, and campaign impact.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Activism and Resources Coordinator within the Community Growth and Engagement team, the Supporter Engagement Officer manages the day-to-day delivery of digital supporter engagement and supports the coordination of volunteers, interns, and campaign activities.

The role maintains supporter, activist, and volunteer databases; supports the transition and adaptation of CRM platforms; monitors engagement and growth metrics; and works with vendors and internal teams to ensure that digital engagement systems function effectively.

The position also develops supporter communications, including email campaigns, newsletters, petitions, surveys, action alerts, and event invitations. Through performance analysis, A/B testing, and behavioural insights, the role continuously improves supporter journeys and digital engagement results.

JOB PURPOSE

The Supporter Engagement Officer helps Amnesty International Indonesia grow, retain, and mobilise its supporter and volunteer base through effective digital communications and well-organised online and offline engagement activities.

The role implements volunteer retention and engagement initiatives, facilitates volunteer participation in campaigns and events, supports the delivery of activism projects such as Write for Rights, and contributes to the development of activism toolkits and human rights education resources.

The position also supports the Social Justice Leaders project through CRM implementation, engagement monitoring, and periodic analysis. It works across teams to deliver campaign priorities and contributes to programme administration, financial processes, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have at least two years of relevant experience designing and implementing digital activism, supporter engagement, volunteer engagement, or mobilisation initiatives for social change campaigns.
  • You understand human rights issues and social change approaches, including grassroots mobilisation, digital organising, and innovative supporter engagement. You have experience engaging and mobilising volunteers both online and offline and can create a positive and organised engagement experience.
  • You are comfortable managing CRM systems, supporter databases, email platforms, and other digital engagement tools. You can maintain data accuracy, troubleshoot basic platform issues, monitor performance indicators, and use data to improve supporter communications and engagement strategies.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can create persuasive content for different platforms and audiences, including email campaigns, newsletters, websites, petitions, and digital actions.
  • You can coordinate projects involving multiple stakeholders, deliver work within agreed timelines and quality standards, and support interns or volunteers in line with organisational policies. You are proactive, collaborative, technologically confident, and able to learn new tools and systems quickly.
  • Hands-on experience with Engaging Networks or other CRM platforms is desirable. Familiarity with WordPress, MailChimp, mass-email systems, or digital mobilisation platforms would also be an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required, both verbally and in writing.  You also demonstrate a clear commitment to human rights, equality, cultural diversity, and gender equality.
