PROGRAM OFFICER FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE LEADER PROJECT – JAKARTA

Amnesty International Indonesia is seeking a dedicated Program Officer to support the implementation of the Social Justice Leader (SJL) Project. The role involves working closely with partners, staff, and human rights defenders to manage, monitor, and evaluate project activities, promote capacity-building, and ensure alignment with Amnesty's mission and standards.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Program Officer will facilitate stakeholder engagement, ensure timely documentation, coordinate project cycles, manage partnerships, and represent Amnesty in relevant forums. The position also contributes to knowledge sharing and internal learning mechanisms to enhance impact and sustainability.

 

JOB PURPOSE

Through close collaboration with colleagues, strategic partners and other parties identify areas for implementation of Social Justice Leader projects. To ensure that these projects are planned, implemented, monitored and evaluated to the highest possible standards as set out in the organization's policies and procedures as well as distributing the knowledge gained from the project to strengthen the HRDs/SJLs and partners.

 

ABOUT YOU

You are an experienced project manager with a strong background in community development, human rights advocacy, or civil society strengthening. You understand how to work with grassroots organizations and are passionate about empowering activists and human rights defenders. Your excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills help you manage complex partnerships and tight deadlines.

 

Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required. You should be comfortable with administrative tasks, financial monitoring, and reporting responsibilities. You are collaborative, proactive, and committed to human rights and participatory approaches.

Please note that this role will only be based in Jakarta. There will be a 6-month probation period for all postholders.
